Meet Renaissance Woman Donna Fridrych
Welcome! If you have come to this site to fill out the Nomination Form that I reference in my book, Women Must Save the World! A Call to Action, you can proceed directly to the Contact page above. If you have come to this site to learn about my books, you can proceed to the Books page above. Otherwise, if you want to learn a bit more about me after reading my books or viewing my videos, following is a brief summary.
First, you might ask why I have called this website Renaissance Donna; it is the name that some people call me because of all the jobs and careers I've had in my life. Second, I want to give hope to those of you who might be in a job or situation that you don't like or that you feel stuck in. Anyone can change the circumstances in their life, but it takes three things: Courage . . . Belief in Yourself . . . Some hard work.
I was fortunate to have someone in my life who not only believed that I was multi-talented, but who insisted I could achieve anything I put my mind to do. That was my father. I believed him, and that belief led me to the following roles:

- Dancer in high school and college musicales
- Retail sales clerk
- Manager of a Laundromat and dry cleaning company
- Hostess for a snack stand on a golf course
- Waitress
- Catalog assistant for the American Library Association
- French, Math, and Modern Jazz teacher
- One of the first female bartenders at Butch McGuire's pub in Chicago
- Computer programmer and designer
- Manager and consultant at various Fortune 500 companies
- An antique shop owner in a four-story Victorian house
- Co-owner of a Day Spa
- Acting Chief Information Officer(CIO) for United Airlines
- Software saleswoman and consultant in Asia, Canada, Europe, and South America
- CEO for Alliant Credit Union
- Co-owner of a business consulting company
- And now . . . an Author!
I've loved every job . . . at least parts of all of them. I didn't like the mopping and cleaning duties of the Laundromat job, and I was a very clumsy waitress. Therefore I have great respect for anyone who stands on their feet all day and does a good job. Like me, you don't have to be exceptional to achieve your dreams . . . you just have to have passion, determination, and a love for what you do.
I am a big proponent of education—either formal or self-taught. There are two things that I think helped lead me to my corporate success: 1) I spent several years teaching myself multiple computer languages while handling a full-time job; and 2) I received an MBA at night school, while traveling and working long hours.
Right now my passion is writing books. My first book published in 2020, Women Must Save the World! A Call to Action, explains why women must lead governments and businesses globally if we want to create a better world. My next two books were published in 2022. Reflections from the Glass Ceiling: How to Reach It . . . How to Breach It describes my successful but difficult climb to the top in the business world and offers advice for aspiring businesswomen. The Year of the Butterfly is a true story about my marriage that tragically ends after a bitter battle with the medical community in trying to get an organ transplant for my husband; his death leads to my spiritual awakening when I experienced eleven of the twelve genres of afterlife communication. Read more about all these books in the Books section of this website. Currently, I spend winters in Arizona and summers at my lake home in northern Illinois with my long-term partner William and our two dogs—Valentino (Tino) who got his name when he was rescued on Valentine's Day, and Natasha (Tasha), his adorable playmate. My favorite sport is tennis and my favorite chore is mowing the lawn.
